Union Street Gallery is proud to present Voyages, a one-man exhibit of drawings and paintings by Sergio Gomez. The exhibit will run from July 6th to August 6, 2011. The opening reception is July 8th, from 6 to 9pm. Voyages will debut 2 new, never-before-seen, works of art created exclusively for this exhibit. At the opening reception Sergio will present a live art performance, accompanied by live music, where he will be creating a new work of art.

INTRODUCTION

In celebration of the 7th anniversary of the National Self-Portrait Exhibition and 33 Contemporary Gallery (formerly known as 33 Collective Gallery), this year’s exhibition will be the largest one to date. 33 Contemporary Gallery in collaboration with the Zhou B. Art Center present the 7th Annual National Self-Portrait Exhibition.

The entire first floor of the Zhou B. Art Center will become a national laboratory for the exploration and visual representation of the “self”. This exhibition will be entirely devoted to different aspects of self-awareness, individual perception and identity. It will include works ranging from representational, non-representational and conceptual ideas of the self. It will feature works in a variety of media. The Zhou B. Art Center is home to 33 Contemporary Gallery and it is located at 1029 W. 35th Street, Chicago, IL 60609.

ABOUT

The National Self-Portrait Exhibition has become one of 33 Contemporary Gallery’s most viewed and anticipated exhibitions to date. Now in its 7th year, the self-portrait exhibition will be a two-part exhibit. We will select works for the gallery exhibition and for a permanent online exhibition. Both exhibitions will have the same opening night and will be equally promoted. Artists’ works will be selected for the gallery, online or both exhibitions. This exhibition showcases high quality works from artists from all over the United States working in a wide range of media and styles.
